Wheat Festival Parade

The Wheat Festival in Wellington comes every July, usually the week after the 4th. Theoretically, it should be after the wheat harvest is done, but harvest really just depends on weather, etc.
We didn't participate in many of the festivities, but we did go to the parade!

He's so excited!

Look at all the people!

Watching the police cars go by first...

My attentive boy, watching everything.

He was fine with everything, the police sirens, the car/truck horns... until this big, huge some-kind-of-truck comes by with it's big air horn. It was so loud, I couldn't even hear Eli crying, but I looked at him to see what he thought of the horn... not so happy about it. Josh tried to cover his ears while it was going by, it helped a little bit, and he sat with Josh for the rest of the parade.

Poor sad baby!

Oh, it's over!

Cool old kerosene tractor in the parade

Gettin' a little zoned out
 (close to bedtime!)

A piece of candy he "caught" in the parade
(don't worry, he didn't really eat it!).

But he did get to keep this plastic
ball they handed out in the parade

"What do I do with it?"

Eat it!

He sees a friend!

"I know her!"
