8 Weeks

We've had a busy couple of weeks; Aunt Sara came to visit, Josh and I had a date night and Eli stayed with the Shelley's for the evening, all three of us drove to Coffeyville and spent the night last week, and Eli and I had a Christmas shopping day in Wichita with Gram and Gramps last Friday. He doesn't love his car seat ever since we drove all the way to Colorado and back, but he does okay for short trips.

 - He has slept all night twice in the last week, and 4-5 hours at a time the other nights!
 - He likes to be with people and if he's awake he thinks someone needs to be with him. :)
 - He loves baths! He will lay in his little bath tub and kick and kick, and then cries when I finally have to take him out.
 - He still likes trying to stand on his wobbly legs, and we're working on liking tummy time but he  mostly just likes to lay there and try to suck on his fist.

Gram and Gramps gave him his Christmas present early, a bumbo seat. He likes it okay; the first time he tried it he was tired and a little fussy, but he has enjoyed sitting in it while we work in the kitchen so he can see us (and the ceiling fan!).

And now, time to see how much he's grown since last month! Look at those chunky cheeks!

Since Mr. Monkey called Eli a monkey last month, Eli has decided to try being a monkey for a day and have Mr. Monkey be a boy! 

"This isn't so bad..."

"Hey, how do I look?"

"You look kind of funny in my hat!"

"Yeah, I guess I could be a monkey..."

"Sooooo, what do monkeys DO all day?"

"This is it?... Lets do something else..."

"This is my SCARY face! Where's yours?"

"We'll have to work on yours"

"See you back in the crib, 'k? It's time 
for my one-on-one pictures with Mom."

"Hey, I wasn't ready! Do over!"

"How's this side?"

"Dad says this is my 'model' look"
